Babe Ruth said it best when he said, "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game". Meredith Perez is the new Administrative Assistant to the field house.  She believes that Babe's advice is something that everyone should remember when facing life's obstacles.  Meredith, born and raised in Mattoon, now lives in Arthur with her husband Nick and their four children.  She graduated from Millikin University with a bechelor's degree in education, a physical education endorsement, and an endorsement in science.  Prior to graduating from Millikin's Pace program with honors, Meredith had recieved her cosmetology license from Lake Land College.  Throughout her life, Meredith has been an athlete and avid believer in what team and individual sports teach and build within children.  She continues to promote youth sports and athletics throughout her community by coaching and volunteering.  Meredith is the Mattoon Junior Varsity softball coach, she is the assistant softball coach for the Mattoon Middle School, and she is the head coach for the Mattoon Pride 14 and under travel softball team.  She volunteers to help her sister, who is the Area 9 Director for Special Olympics, she assists with the Special Olympics Family Festival held at Lake Land, and she volunteers to coach t-ball and other youth sports in her community and surrounding areas.  Meredith grew up playing competitive sports.  As an athlete and an avid believer in what team and individual sports can teach and build within children, she continues to promote youth sports and athletics.  Meredith is currently the Mattoon Junior Varsity softball coach, she is the assistant softball coach for the Mattoon Middle School, and she is the head coach for the Mattoon Pride 14 and under travel softball team.  Meredith has just joined our Athletics Deparment her at Lake Land College as the Administrative Assistant to the Fieldhouse.  With her background in sports, her communication skills, along with her managerial abilities, and outgoing personality she will continue to assist the athletic department in building a motivated, educational, and supportive athletic experience for our student athletes.
