Lakers Travel to Spoon River

After a good practice on friday in preperation for today's (1/15/2022) game vs Spoon River, The Lakers were able to lock down their system and help dust off the rust from their break!

Lakers are excited for the challenge thats ahead of them and ready to get back to a consitant schedule of games.

Lakers are currently ranked #6 in the NJCAA D2 Women's Basketball Polls with two Region 24 opponents just ahead of them. The Lakers are ready to take it day to day and the Snappers of Spoon River are first up.

The Lakers came out strong scoring 18 in the first quarter, 10 in the second, then came out strong in the second half by scoring 21 points to push the lead over the Snappers. Finally, the Lakers finished the game with a 62-46 win over Spoon River CC. The Lakers were led by #3 Olivia Niemerg scoring 20 points, #21 Chloe Custis scoring 13 points and #24 Avery Still assisting by scoring 10 Points.

The Lakers are set to host #3 Illinois Central College on Wednesday, January 19th at the Laker Field House.

Tip-Off is at 5:30PM.
